Fallen Brother In Blue
Updated On: Oct 30, 2015

The IAFF Local 244, along with the APOA, Albuquerque Police & Fire Departments, NMSP, BCSO, the City of Albuquerque and the countless citizens’ lives he touched are deeply saddened with the passing of Officer Daniel Webster on October 29, 2015. Officer Webster sustained gunshot wounds a week prior at a traffic stop in SE Albuquerque. That fateful night Daniel Webster simply was doing what he loved and did every other night he put that uniform on- made Albuquerque a better place to live and work and keep us all safe. Over the 9 years Officer Webster was with APD, he was a true ambassador for public safety, even becoming one of the most popular and respected officers by AFD members who routinely were on scene with him. He is best remembered by the SE crews for his professionalism, the calmness he brought to a situation and his genuine interest in making each situation better through his unending compassion and empathy. Officer Daniel Webster exemplified the motto "To protect and serve".

He was not just a local hero, he proudly served America in the U.S. Army for 20 years and was an Army Ranger prior to joining the APD family. Daniel Webster was a husband (wife Michelle is a deputy with BCSO), a father to 3 daughters, a grandfather, a friend and mentor.

Brother Webster, while we are all angry, sad and confused over the loss of you, most of all we are lucky for having known you and worked with you.

Thank you for you selfless bravery.

Rest in Peace Brother.
