A Special Meeting will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 7pm. This Special Meeting will be for informational purposes only and will include a presentation by General Treasurer John Roumpf detailing total assets, expenses and justification for a dues increase.

The ongoing legal battles to protect our contractual rights and the demand to educate the public of the truth have prompted us to enhance our community outreach programs, attend community events and fund media messaging. These new and increased expenditures have not gone unnoticed nor has the strain on this Union’s operating budget.  It is the recommendation of the IAFF Local 244 Executive Board to request a dues increase. Our organization last increased dues by membership approval in November of 2007.  In accordance with Article IV, Section 5 of the Constitution and By-laws we are calling for a vote for the purpose of increasing the membership dues. This vote will be held during May’s General Meeting on May 12, 2011 by secret ballot.
