Thank you to all the members who attended the Annual IAFF Local 244 Christmas Party on the 13^th of December; this year was a great success with 300 members in attendance to honor the IAFF Local 244 Executive Board selections for the 2013 Outstanding Leadership and Firefighter of the Year Awards.

Jacob Tapia received the City Chapter Firefighter of the Year Award based on his exemplary compassion and commitment toward MDA and to people in need. Representing us all to the public we serve on his time off.  

Ken Bond received the County Chapter Firefighter of the Year Award for demonstrating acts of kindness toward families of firefighters in need. He also spearheaded the bone marrow transplant drive and successfully signed up a record number of donors.

Rainey Perez received the Outstanding Leadership Award for his commitment and dedication towards helping fellow firefighters and serving the membership and Executive Board of the IAFF Local 244.
