Be advised, deductions for Benevolent and TV Fund will be deducted this month (July 2019) in accordance with Article IV, Section 6 and Section 10 of the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & Bylaws. 

City Chapter Members:

Please be advised that deductions for Benevolent Fund and TV Fund are scheduled to come out during the first pay period in July 2019. These deductions should occur on Pay Period Ending (PPE) 7/05/19 with a pay date of 7/12/19.

County Chapter Members:

Please be advised that the deduction for Benevolent Fund will be taken out the first full pay period in July 2019. This deduction should occur on Pay Period Ending (PPE) 7/19/19 with a pay date of 7/26/19.

The IAFF Local 244 Executive Board is accepting letters of interest for City Trustee 1 for the next 14 calendar days. The Executive Board will appoint members to serve in these positions at the Executive Board meeting on July 18, 2019 until the next General Election; in accordance with the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & Bylaws, Article VI, Section 5.

During today's special meeting regarding Captain Conversions the membership voted unanimously to accept the BCFD Chief's Plan to convert Lieutenant postions to Captains.

Come out and take part in the 1st Annual Battle for the Pump Cornhole Tournament benefitting Local 244's Membership Assistance Program.   When: Saturday May 11th 9 a.m.

A Special Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 1:00p.m. in accordance with Article V, Section 6 of the Constitution & By-Laws. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss Captain Conversions. Please be aware that the meeting will start promptly at the advertised time.  

A Special Meeting is scheduled at the Union Hall on April 11, 2019 in accordance with Article V, Section 6 of the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & By-Laws. The purpose of this meeting is to approve the Political Action Committee recommendation for a Congressional Endorsement. The meeting will start promptly at 6:45pm, the General Meeting with follow at 7:00pm. Please call the General President with any questions.

The City Chapter Paramedic EMT-I Compensation for Training Attendance during regularly scheduled days off MOU was approved, pursuant to Article II, Section 2 Contract Vote/Ratification & Section 4 Memorandums of Understanding of the Constitution & Bylaws at the Special Meeting which was held on March 28, 2019. The signed Paramedic EMT-I Compensation for Training Attendance during regularly scheduled days off MOU can be viewed in the member’s area under the 'Contracts' tab.

A Special Meeting will be held on March 28, 2019, during this meeting the IAFF Local 244 Executive Board will present the City Chapter Paramedic EMT-I Compensation for Training Attendance during regularly scheduled days off MOU for approval by the membership pursuant to Article II, Section 2 Contract Vote/Ratification & Section 4 Memorandums of Understanding of the Constitution & Bylaws. Informational meetings for review and discussion are scheduled for March 25 & 27 beginning promptly at 11:00am at the Union Hall.

On Saturday, March 30th 2019, the Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters will host the 8th Annual ‘Swing for Survivors’ Golf Tournament to Benefit the IAFF Local 244 Firefighters Survivors Fund (FSF). The FSF provides financial assistance to firefighters, spouses and children of firefighters stricken with life threatening medical conditions.
