The IAFF Local 244 Executive Board is accepting letters of interest for the position of City Chapter Chief Steward for the next 14 calendar days. The Executive Board will appoint the City Chapter Chief Steward to serve until the next General Election in accordance with the Constitution & Bylaws, Article VI, Section 5.

Brothers & Sisters, It has been brought to my attention as both the General Secretary and Election Committee Chair (for last election) that Section 10 para E.  of our Local's By-laws was not followed.

The Executive Board will appoint the City Chapter Vice President to serve until the next General Election in December 2019 in accordance with the Constitution & Bylaws, Article VI, Section 5.

As Interim president, I wanted to provide you with an update regarding the appointment process for the vacant General President Position. Your Eboard received one valid letter of interest for this position.

As a result, your elected board has today, January 15, 2019 unanimously appointed Brother Justin Cheney by acclimation without dissent as your General President for the remainder of the current term.

Be advised, deductions for Benevolent and TV Fund will be deducted in this month (January 2019) in accordance with Article IV, Section 6 and Section 10 of the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & Bylaws. 

City Chapter Members:

Please be advised that deductions for Benevolent Fund and TV Fund are scheduled to come out during the first pay period in January 2019. These deductions will occur on Pay Period Ending (PPE) 1/04/19 with a pay date of 1/11/19.

County Chapter Members:

Please be advised that the deductions for Benevolent Fund are scheduled to come out during the first full pay period in January 2019. These deductions will occur on Pay Period Ending (PPE) 1/18/19 with a pay date of 1/25/19.

The Executive Board will appoint the interim president to serve until the next General Election in December 2019 in accordance with the Constitution & Bylaws, Article VI, Section 5. All letters of interest can be turned in to the Union Hall or emailed to iafflocal244@qwestoffice.net on or before 11am on January 14, 2019.
