A degree of drama accompanied Congress as members finally passed the GOP tax reform bill earlier today. Yesterday afternoon, the House passed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1) by a vote of 227 to 203, with 12 Republicans joining all Democrats in voting against the bill.

The 2017 IAFF Local 244 Christmas Party was a great success with over 300 in attendance. Firefighter of the Year Awards were given to FF Eric Adair for AFD and Steve Busch for BCFD (unable to attend). The Outstanding Leadership Award was given to Capt. Santos Garcia. The Executive Board also honored CMDR Tony Pittarelli for his service to the IAFF as an Executive Officer for over 11 years. Happy Holidays everyone!
