IAFF Local 244 City Chapter Informational Meeting

We will be holding an Informational Meeting to discuss AFR Promotional Requirements to include education requirements.

This meeting will be held in-person and will also be available via Zoom on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 1:00pm at the Union Hall.

The IAFF Local 244 General Election will be held in December 2023 (Exact Date-TBD)

Nominations for the 2023 General Election will officially open at the General Membership Meeting on September 14, 2023, and will close at the General Membership Meeting on November 9, 2023.

In accordance with the Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters IAFF Local 244 Bylaws: Article X, Officer Elections, Section 4. Elected Officer Terms all ‘Odd Year’ positions will be up for election in 2023. There will also be five (5) ‘Even Year’ positions up for election, which will be for a one (1) year term due to vacancies. See detailed listing below.

Additional details related to absentee voting, early voting and poll sites will be provided in early November 2023 in accordance with the Constitution & Bylaws.  

A City Chapter Contract Negotiations Informational Meeting is scheduled for September 12, 2023, at the Union Hall. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss upcoming negotiations related to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the IAFF Local 244 and the City of Albuquerque.

Executive Board Vacancy-City Chapter The IAFF Local 244 Executive Board is accepting letters of interest for the position of City Chapter Second Trustee for the next 14 calendar days.
