Officer Election and Bylaw Change Vote Reminder

Just a reminder that Officer Elections and the Bylaw change vote will be held on December 6th from 7:00am to 7:00pm. The poll sites will be the Union Hall, City Stations 8 & 17, and County Stations 3 & 10.Early Voting will be held at the Union Hall ONLY, starting Monday November 29th and will continue through Friday December 3rd from 9am to 3pm each day.

Special Meeting for Promotional Procedure SOG changes will be held on November 29, 2010 @ 7pm

Attention City Chapter Members:

There will be a City Chapter Special Meeting on November 29, 2010, 7pm. We encourage members to attend and provide input on these critical changes to the AFD Promotional Procedures. The IAFF Local 244 Executive Board will take the recommendations from the General Membership before submitting recommendations to the Rules and Regulations Committee and Fire Administration. IAFF Local 244 Christmas Party!

The annual IAFF Local 244 Fire Fighters Ball will be held on December 10, 2010 @ the Hotel Abq at Old Town. Join us as well celebrate and honor our fellow brothers and sisters for their leadership. Tickets are availble at the Union Hall from 10am to 3pm Monday through Friday. Rooms are $80 until December 3rd, ask for the Fire Fighter room block. Call Kelly for more info: 505-288-2313

Executive Board Nominations are NOW CLOSED

Attention Members: The end of the General Membership meeting today brought an end to the nominations period for the open Executive Board positions. The next step will be reviewing the nominations to make sure that all those nominated are eligible to run for an office per our Bylaws-Article X, Section 3.

Kidz Christmas Party @ iT'z

The 2010 Kid'z Christmas Party is going to be held again at iT'z Family, Food, and Fun. It will be held on Saturday December 4th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. This event is free for members and their families as long as you RSVP to Kelly by November 29th by 3:00pm. Members that show up at the event without RSVPing will have to pay at the door

General Election and Constitution and Bylaw Vote

Vice-President Ahren Griego

Dear Members,

Our brother Ahren Griego is dealing with a family emergency. His mother, while visiting family in Germany, has taken ill and is in critical condition in a hospital in Germany. Ahren has flown out there to be by his mother's side and at this time does not know how long he will be there. Ahren has excess leave and that is not an issue at this time, however the expense of staying in Germany is an issue that we can help with. A fund has been set up at all Wells Fargo Banks in his name and any contributions will be appreciated. I will keep everyone informed as I receive new information.
