Together we succeeded in protecting our 20yr retirement! HB573 (Adjustment to Retirement Plans) passed with our amendment to exclude Fire and Police! Also, SB 303 (Fire Fighter Occupational Disease) passed and is on its way to be signed by the Governor.

Thanks to all the Executive Board Officers for their unrelenting support and representation of our membership! A very special thanks to all the Local 244 members who took the time to call their Senators and Representatives.

On behalf of Local 244, I would like to recognize those members who were there for us at the Capitol arguing and explaining our points to Senators and Representatives: Sara Ranney, Jed Hyland, Phil Luna, William Manus, Jackie Lance, Carlos Arguelles, David Mowrey, Jarred Baldwin, Dennis Branch, Chris Carlsen, John Melia, Randy Bischoff, Steve Muryzn, and Gilbert Marquez (my sincere apologies if I have forgotten anyone). Local 244's presence was well known during this Legislative session. Our achievements would have not been possible without the involvement from all of you!
