IAFF 244 General Election Information & Nominations 2025

*THIS ELECTION/VOTE WILL INCLUDE BYLAW CHANGES

BYLAW CHANGES WILL BE AVAILABLE 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE VOTE/ELECTION

Attention All Members:

The IAFF Local 244 General Election will be held in December 2025 (Exact Date-TBD)

Nominations for the 2025 General Election will officially open at the General Membership Meeting on September 11, 2025, and will close at the General Membership Meeting on November 13, 2025.

In accordance with the Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters IAFF Local 244 Bylaws: Article X, Officer Elections, Section 4. Elected Officer Terms all ‘Odd Year’ positions will be up for election in 2025. There will also be three (3) ‘Even Year’ positions up for election, which will each be for a one (1) year term due to vacancies. See detailed listing below.

Please refer to the Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters IAFF Local 244 Bylaws: Article X, Officer Elections, Sections 1-13 & Article XI, Voting, Sections 1-6 & Article XIV, Amendments for additional information including Eligibility Requirements. 

Additional details related to absentee voting, early voting and poll sites will be provided in early November 2025 in accordance with the Constitution & Bylaws.  

County Chapter MOU for ‘Upgrade & Certification Courses’ to be presented for membership approval at a Special Meeting on 5/21/25 at 11:00a.m.

A Special Meeting will be held on May 21, 2025, at 11:00am at the Union Hall. This will be an in-person meeting (no zoom option).

During this meeting, the IAFF Local 244 Executive Board will present the County Chapter ‘Upgrade & Certification Courses’ MOU for approval by the membership pursuant to Article II, Section 4 & Article V, Section 6 of the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & By-Laws. The meeting will begin promptly at 11:00a.m. at the Union Hall.

The Upgrade & Certification Courses MOU can be viewed in the member’s area under the 'Contracts' tab in the folder titled MOU’s/Contracts for Approval or check your email for a notification with attachment.

A Special Meeting will be held on May 14, 2025, at 10:00am at the Union Hall, zoom link for view-only purposes will be emailed out.

During this meeting, the IAFF Local 244 Executive Board will present the City Chapter ‘Section 700 Compensation Policies’ MOU for approval by the membership pursuant to Article II, Section 4 & Article V, Section 6 of the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & By-Laws. The meeting will begin promptly at 10:00a.m. at the Union Hall.

The Section 700 MOU can be viewed in the member’s area under the 'Contracts' tab in the folder titled MOU’s/Contracts for Approval or check your email, which will include a ‘view-only’ zoom link and the MOU attachment.
