County Chapter MOU for ‘Sick Leave’ to be presented for membership approval at Special Meeting on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Union Hall.

During this meeting, the IAFF Local 244 Executive Board will present the County Chapter Sick Leave MOU for approval by the membership pursuant to Article II, Section 4 & Article V, Section 6 of the Constitution & Bylaws.

The meeting will begin promptly at 1:00p.m. at the Union Hall.

As a reminder and in accordance with Article V, SECTION 6. Special Meetings: Voting held to determine candidate endorsements or special issues is limited to appearing in person, at the meeting, and casting your vote. Therefore, NO zoom link will be available for this County Chapter Special Meeting.

The Sick Leave MOU can be viewed in the member’s area under the 'Contracts' tab in the folder titled MOU’s/Contracts for Approval.

*Absentee Voting:  In accordance with the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & By-Laws Article XI, Section 3. Members who meet the requirements for ‘Absentee’ voting may complete an Absentee Ballot by contacting the Election Committee Chair or designee and scheduling an appointment between the hours of 9:00am-3:00pm.

This option will be available on November 20th-22nd, 2023 and November 27th & 28th, 2023. 

This option is reserved for members on leave, departmental trip, training status or on paid status at the time of the main vote on 12/4/23.

IAFF Local 244 City Chapter Informational Meeting

We will be holding an Informational Meeting to discuss AFR Promotional Requirements to include education requirements.

This meeting will be held in-person and will also be available via Zoom on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 1:00pm at the Union Hall.

The IAFF Local 244 General Election will be held in December 2023 (Exact Date-TBD)

Nominations for the 2023 General Election will officially open at the General Membership Meeting on September 14, 2023, and will close at the General Membership Meeting on November 9, 2023.

In accordance with the Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters IAFF Local 244 Bylaws: Article X, Officer Elections, Section 4. Elected Officer Terms all ‘Odd Year’ positions will be up for election in 2023. There will also be five (5) ‘Even Year’ positions up for election, which will be for a one (1) year term due to vacancies. See detailed listing below.
