Attention Members:

The IAFF Local 244 Election Committee has called for a secret ballot vote to be held during the July General Membership meeting on July 13, 2023, beginning at 10:00a.m. to adopt proposed Bylaw Amendments.

The membership recently voted on our Constitution & Bylaws in December 2022; however, the International Association of Fire Fighters only granted ‘Conditional Approval’ of the submitted Constitution and Bylaws. This conditional approval was granted because the IAFF and its legal department determined that the existing language related to delegates to the IAFF conventions requires a language change.   

This vote is being called pursuant to Article XIV Amendments, Section 1, Method of the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & Bylaws. The proposed amendments include changes or additions to the following Articles:

1) Article VI: Local Officers

     Section 2.  Duties and Objectives

2) Article VIII: Delegates 

     Section 1. Delegates

     Section 2. Nominations and Elections of Delegates and Alternates to IAFF Conventions

     Section 3. Notice
